By the end of November, Swiss cities begin to glow. Streets fill with Christmas lights, window displays turn warmer, and the air feels different — calm, cozy, expectant.
That’s when I start offering Christmas photo sessions in Switzerland – a way to capture the glow of the season, the emotion of December, and a bit of that quiet joy that only winter brings.
This year, I’m introducing these sessions for the first time. I’ve always loved the way Swiss cities look in winter — the lights reflected on cobblestones, the atmosphere, the sense of togetherness. Now, I’m bringing that into my photography: natural, relaxed, and full of warmth.

Christmas photo session – daylight or city lights?
Both options have their charm.
- Daylight sessions are bright, calm, and soft in tone — perfect if you love natural light and pastel winter colors.
- Evening sessions bring a completely different mood — golden lights, reflections in shop windows, the warm glow of the city.
Sometimes we start in daylight and end as the lights turn on — a beautiful transition from everyday life to festive magic.
How to prepare for your Christmas photo shoot
There’s no need to overthink it — comfort and warmth come first.
Coats, sweaters, scarves, and pom-pom hats always look great on camera. Layer up, stay cozy, and bring along small details that add atmosphere:
- gloves,
- a mug of hot tea,
- a small lantern, string lights, or a sprig of pine.

Where the Christmas sessions take place
Most sessions take place in Zug, Lucerne, and Rotkreuz – cities that look especially beautiful in winter light.
For longer sessions (one hour), I can travel to Zurich, Bern, or another city of your choice.
Each location has its own character:
- Zug – intimate, with a lakeside view and cozy old town,
- Lucerne – elegant, with the Kapellbrücke and charming shop windows,
- Zurich & Bern – more dynamic, full of life and festive sparkle.
